49,000 Bar Tab?

So on Saturday night my roommates and I were out in Itaim (in Sao Paulo, Brazil) celebrating our friends arrival in town. I was drinking Caiparinhas as usual After a few hours we decided to head back to our neighborhood for a night cap… I went back up to the bar to settle my tab, for 3 caiparinhas and shot of cachaca and instead found that my bill was 49,000 reias. On my tab were charges for amputations, catheters, physical therapy, helicopter transport and a stay in the ICU. At first I was really confused, I didn’t know what the hell was going on and immediately asked the bartender to explain, he pointed to the bottom of the bill… “Driving home can be more expensive that you thought.”
